This January saw some major changes to the landscape of the Ecovillage. An excavator was brought in to assist with making some large scale visions reality.
Scott and excavator operator Mike work together to transform the land.
A tape measure was necessary to execute this move between two cedar trees. The opening marks the entrance to the new sanctuary road.
Mike and Scott worked collaboratively to get the job done with expertise. They made it look easy.
Power!
The Sanctuary Road.
Trees are plucked from the ground and placed aside. The excavator leaves behind... a road!
Woah, the strength of the machine is amazing!
The excavator arm acts like an extension of Mike's human arm as it works.
The excavator spins and moves its mechanical parts to navigate through the tricky terrain.
The machine picks up giant root systems in less than thirty seconds and moves them aside.
Digging looks fun!
A skilled and directive groundsman is essential in this creative process. Scott works alongside the excavator with his chain saw. Trees are important! We preserve the wood for future building projects.
This tree looks like a twig within the grips of the excavator.
A good time for some chainsaw action.
Julia made a delicious power lunch to accompany the day!
Lynn helps create a garden post to make way for some garden clearing action!
Scott and Mike discuss the garden clearing plan.
Oh Yah! The rain does not dampen the fun factor! Scott Robinson gives his sentiment.
Our land is bright and we welcome the harmonious changes.
