Time for a straw bale run to the Ecovillage. This straw will be the North wall of the cob building.
38 bales of straw delivered right to the Horseshoe Bay Government dock.
Maple leaves in the sacred swimming pond.
When the sacred swimming pond was designed the Ecovillagers included an overflow ditch. Now, during the November rains, the pools are completely full and the overflow system is working well. Note the grass is growing well on the lounging areas around the sacred pools.
Fall colours at the Ecovillage.
The seasonal stream flowing beside Maple Valley Road has filled up the new pond! The Ecovillagers are doing research on this pond, it could have many uses. The ultimate sand trap (sand is used for cob building, not that common on the land) perhaps another usage could be a small winter micro-hydro power system and if the pond is lined it could be used for summer irrigation. We will see which of these systems is most beneficial.
The awesome road to the Ecovillage that is draining so well through the fall rains.
