What is a work party?

-A work party is a day spent on the Ecovillage land working on a specific project or projects e.g. gardening, building structures, implementing a design.
-We enjoy lunch looking at the beautiful view.
-These are fun events where we get work done at the same time.
-For each hour spent working at the ecovillage (after 1 karma service hour) you can earn ecovillage credits that can go towards a share.

 

Joining in on a work party will mean you will be taking a boat to the Ecovillage.  The water taxi, our current transportation to the Ecovillage is $50 return (12 trips pass card $235). 

Work 4 hours (for adults) and 2 hours (for kids) at the Ecovillage and your water taxi fee will be credited towards a Lightwork Ecovillage share. 

How do I get involved in work parties?

-We go out most weekends.  Either for a day or camping overnight.  Email or call Lightwork and let us know that you are interested in coming out to a Work Party.

 

How do I take a Meditation Class?

 

-As we are an intentional community based on a shared spiritual practice you may like to take a meditation class to make sure this spiritual practice is a good fit for you.  A list of introduction and Level 1 classes are found here.

 

-It takes a community to build a community.  Donations of time, knowledge and resources are greatly appreciated.  Let us know if you have something you would like to donate or see the wish list. 

How do I become a monthly sustaining supporter?

-Bring a void cheque to Lightwork.  We will give you a form to fill out and sign detailing the amount you'd like to contribute to the Lightwork Ecovillage.
-Your monthly contributions accumulate towards an Ecovillage share.

-We can also mail you the form to fill out and mail back to us.

How do I become a steward?

In order to become a Lightwork Ecovillage Full Time Resident (a Steward) the following is required:
–  Attend one or more Lightwork sessions weekly (e.g. Healing Space, Next Step,  Moving Meditation, or classes etc.).
–  Become a Sustaining Supporter (monthly financial support of some kind).
–  Buy shares (total number yet to be determined).
–  Attend regular ‘All Stewards’ meeting.
–  Choose Lightwork as your spiritual practice.
–  Graduate from Lightwork Level 6.
–  Stewards must agree unanimously to accept a new steward.
