The mission was huge Friday, May 12. We got 29 90-pound bales of straw delivered to our Kitsilano Headquarters. The straw will be used in our sustainable outbuilding project this summer. All 29 bales needed to be wrapped and stored away. It was a huge job, but the core Ecovillage crew at hand stepped up!
This is 1/3 of the straw delivery. The Kitsilano neighbours had many a comment.
'To a sustainable future...and beyond!'
I like the straw. Sustainable, mmm.
At the Ecovillage Scott, Gary and Julia install a much needed central post for extra cabin strength.
Gary and Julia show off foundation materials, gathered by hand (and Troopy).
Eric Dixon drawing on years of experience has the sustainable future in his sights!
Krista stands in the site where the cob workshop will take place.
'We're not all brawn you know.'
Excellent material for our cob mixture.
Getting 90 pound bales of straw to the Ecovillage is no small feat but the enthusiasm for our vision runs high.
