Well we can feel it in the air, the little nip of Fall reveals itself and the Ecovillagers enjoy the final warm days of the summer and are excited about the Fall season approaching. These nasturtiums on the deck feel the change too and do one final explosion of blossoms to celebrate.

Image
Cloe and her Dad Scott planted the nasturtiums months ago as one inch sprouts. Having our young Ecovillagers experience the deep pleasures of growing things is important for them and the world.

The nasturtiums often end up in the lovely Ecovillage salads, very sweet.

Another lovely lunch on the deck. You can tell by Krista' tuque that the air is starting to get cool.

Scott very happy with his bean harvest on the top deck. Fall rocks.

Bean-a-licious.

The clouds flowing around the Howe Sound mountains tell the Ecovillagers that the timeless seasons continue to flow.

Some days in the Fall the weather will do everything in one day, rain, wind, sun, warmth, cold. Here is the weather changing before the Ecovillager's eyes.

Time to get some wood under shelter for the cool days to come. Today is kindling day.

Nicely dried cedar is cut into small pieces that will start the fires that will keep them warm.

Kindling, kindling.

One can see Julia Watson's hand in these nicely organized boxes of kindling.

The Ecovillagers planted a Fig tree this Fall and it seems very excited to grow at it's new home. It already has 5 figs on it. They probably won't mature to the eating stage this Fall but the crew looks forward to next year.

This lovely flowing bush (a Satin Rose?) wasn't getting enough attention where it was planted way down by the well but has since been moved up behind the Hawk House and is getting lots of love now. It bloomed for the first time in a few years. Pretty.

This Tiger Eye is starting to show it's Fall colours. Very nice.

Time to put a coat on the deck. The Hawk House gets pounded in the Winter storms and it's a journey to keep it water tight.

Deb continues to work on creating a large garden near Hawk House. The recycled fishing net fence is going up. Looks good.

The Ecovillagers continue to harvest trees from the land to construct a post and beam structure to hold the cob building's roof.

It is a lot of work but extremely satisfying building with raw logs right from the land. Very enviro-friendly.

Jeanine insists that it is not to cold to go for one last swim in the ocean. She did squeal rather loud when she jumped in, but enjoyed it.

Cloe bright as usual.
