View of Howe Sound from the Hawk House deck. Beautiful blue and sunlight shimmering on the water. The view brings peace and comfort to the Ecovillage crew.
Fern meets sky, meets sun. Scott capturing a mind expanding view of manifestation.
Ah, yes, men chop wood.
Time to make some firewood! Scott and Keith sourced a dead standing tree and with skill cut it to fall in the exact angle and direction as was intended yelling TIMBER as it came crashing to the ground. The first standing tree harvest was a success. With their male energy cranked they bucked up the tree and brought it to the Hawk House to be chopped up into fire wood.
With no shirts and axe the men bucked up the logs in no time.
Scott reveling in the joy of the job at hand.
The men weren't the only ones reveling. The ladies assisted with the wood chopping by standing nearby and remarking on the brawn of their fellow ecovillagers!
The sun is crossing lower in the sky, making way for the autumn to fall.
Cloe waking up at the Ecovillage.
Another BC ferry goes by (the right hand side of the picture).
Julia T. sanding the deck.
Then staining it with a protective oil.
This photo feels like it could be on the Founder Members wall in the community house one day. Feels momentous. Scott reaping the pleasures of standing, leaning on and viewing his carpentry work. He put hours of labour into building the deck extension and roof. Fine job indeed.
A rainy day at the Ecovillage. Sitting in a cloud. The roof is standing up well after a heavy storm of rain and forceful wind.
The deck is now protected by a coat of stain giving the wood a warm amber hue.
Rain! Not a problem here, the crew already painted a protective coating of oil on them!
Inside the Hawk House is getting an upgrade. Julia T. would like to call it cabinetry work. The crew settled on calling it construction to keep it in the realm of the known. The sink is in place and the counter is partially installed.
Another great month at the Ecovillage. This October is the Ecovillage's 3rd Anniversary!!!
