Another new snow fall on the majestic mountains near the Ecovillage greets us as we head into Howe Sound for another Ecovillage day. The snowline is very visible today.

Out in the middle of Howe Sound looking across to Bowen Island we see the familiar changing weather of the West Coast winter. The variety is awesome. The Ecovillage crew of 6 feels the familiar release upon leaving the city. Our projects today include putting a roof over our new composting toilet, continued Troopy repairs and construction on the extension of the interim community house deck.

Eric eyes up the job. Ear plugs ready as Scott prepares to shatter the silence with the chainsaw.

Krista and Cathy give Scott and Eric a hand with the job. Scott demonstrating how he can hit the nail on the head!

Our 2 major posts slide nicely into their rock solid foundations with temporary supports. We decided not to peel the bark off the posts so it matches the rustic feel of the rest of the cabin.

Next the beams are put in place.

The front of the deck will be about 10 feet off of the ground with a phenomenal view.

Nearing the end of the day the post and the beams are in place ready for their permanant bracing to be added.

The extension of the deck will really improve our summertime luxury at the Ecovillage.

The view from up on the deck, it is going to be great!

Checking the water station we see that we now have about 4 inches of water in the bottom of the tank. This was caught over the last week. It is working well.

Keith spent a good part of the day working with our neighbour/mechanic on Troopy's brakes. We are very glad that Keith has intentions of being more mechanically minded. This is very important being no where near a garage. Cathy, Krista and Julia T. spent a large portion of the day building a roof over the new composting toilet. It is still in process, pictures to come. Beautiful light down by the ocean as the day completes.

We are truly blessed.
