Keith keeps the home fires burning at the ecovillage.
Julia showing off her stripping abilities. (Stripping bark that is) The cob structure will be partly constructed with peeled logs embedded into the cob walls.
Scott embraces his lumberjack nature with logs that were felled 5 years ago. Lots of hours on the chainsaw today!
Troopy parked at our beautiful outbuilding construction site.
Krista rocked out all day. That's 3 troopy loads for those who are counting! Our cob outbuilding will be utilising rock from the ecovillage for it's sturdy foundation.
Nice job Morrison. We'll be rocking out next work party too, as we need five times this amount.
'And the true meaning of the ecovillage came through, and Gary found the strength of ten Garys, plus two.' No kidding!, Gary dug half the foundation trenches in one day! Awesome!
Dig... dig... dig....
Let me tell you the story of Strider, formerly known as Aragorn the king. He is a 400 year old (at least) fir tree that stands right in the center of the Lightwork ecovillage. He is strong, proud, and powerful.
Standing at his base, and looking up, his awsome power is palpable. The land was logged 6 years ago, but even with chainsaws roaring in hand the loggers were no match for Strider.
He towers over all others.
The king is generous too, many a wood-pecker has fed its belly here.
The fires of old are recorded in Aragon's thick hide.
Spring at the ecovillage is a sight to behold. All the ferns have fresh green fronds.
On the way home accross the water today's ecovillage crew feels tired and satisfied.
